and Not a Thought to Spare!
Center time is a fun learning time, and should be taken advantage of. Students of all ages can benefit from the skills learned during this special time of the day. Creating a web-enhanced learning curriculum to be utilized during center time, for primary grade levels, can be a bit tricky. Centers, Centers Everywhere, and Not a Thought to Spare! has been created so that you may easily navigate though some of the best on-line resources available, focusing on center specific avticities. The activities below are catagorized by subject area, and have been organized and evaluated to make your life a breeze. Use these ideas, as a guide or as they are, to generate and create web-enhanced centers for all subject areas.

Reading and English/Language Arts Center
Additional Comments: *Go to www.mrsmcdowell.com to learn how to build a busy bee hive reading corner. This will surely get tiny brains ready for big thoughts! Students will surely want to read and work together in this fun atmosphere. Happy Reading!!!

*To locate a survey that was completed to find resluts based on language and literacy promotion in early childhood settings go to http://wwwecrp.uiuc.edu/v8n1/green.html --- This survey provides interesting results of the thoughts and practices of early childhood caretakers.







Math Center
Additional Comments: Math is everywhere and relates to everyday life and activities. Be sure to include real-world problem during math time for extraordinary products and lots of thinking. A great interactive site that may be used to reinforce some math activities is www.internet4classrooms.com. This site targets all grade levels and subjects, but for the primary grades use the tools provided to work on time, money, measurement, and many other required standards/goals.









Science Center
Additional Comments: Science is a time to get creative and explore the world around you. The best way to do these things are by inquiry learning and group collaboration.

Additional Comments: Incorportation of social studies with any other subject area is proven to be very successful. So do forget to integrate your lessons and subjects to create a wonderful world of learning.
